We all have a buddy in Junior Infants who we get to look after for the year. We have time for paired reading, nature walks and bake sales! Today we walked to the old school to show Junior Infants what it looked like. They are working on a project about schools in class at the moment.
We have had a brilliant month in 6th class. Here are some of our highlights!
We received pen pal letters from our friends in Whitechurch National School. A selection of us also got to meet them at the Diosecen service too.
We celebrated Maths Week with a Maths trail around the school. We worked in small groups to complete difficult challenges.
We created some beautiful Art!
Have a lovely Midterm! 🍂⭐️
5th and 6th class attended the Leinster Rugby Blitz this morning. They played against 9 other schools.
It was a brilliant day and everyone played excellently!
We sent a video message to the Irish Rugby team ahead of the big match tomorrow!
On Wednesdays we look forward to Gaeilge Spraoi in 6th class. We embark on a challenge as Gaeilge in pairs or small groups. This is a fun way to revise our Irish spellings or the grammar rule of the week. So far we have had an Irish sentence structure treasure hunt and an Irish escape room.
Escape Room = Seomra Éalú 🍀
We had three tasks to complete before we could escape out of the 6th class door!
Our attitude towards Gaeilge is slowly improving while we use Irish in a fun and interactive way! Well done 6th 🙌🏼
We are training for our Rugby Blitz at the end of October, where we will be playing against other schools in Dublin. We decided to watch the Ireland -v- Russia match on Thursday to learn a few skills from the best! Our cheering and singing was very impressive!
We have been learning about 2D shapes and lines and angles. We had Maths stations yesterday where we practiced all of our skills in a fun and engaging way!

Station 2: Body angles
